In my quest to find bags that are well suited for compact system cameras, I accidentally came across Think Tank’s Hubba Hubba Hiney (B&H Photo/Video ~ Adorama). Zack Arias used this bag with his X-Pro1 and lenses when he toured India recently, so I thought I would check it in person.
For someone wanting to transport a simple, compact camera kit, this small bag really delivers – and at a very affordable price (about $US 50.00).
The Hubba Hubba Hiney measures 29 cm x 18.5 cm x 13.5 cm (11.4″ W x 7.3″ H x 5.3″ D) and it weighs only 500 grams (or about 1 pound). It is made of water resistant nylon and it is nicely padded to protect your gear.
You can easily fit a (basic) compact camera system consisting of a camera body and 2-4 lenses (depending on size). I was able to fit a basic X-Pro1 kit with room to spare:
In fact, I can get my Fujifilm X100 into the bag as well – it is a tight fit though. Sony NEX, Samsung NX, or Micro Four Thirds users would have no problem getting a body and 2-4 lenses (plus accessories) to fit into this bag.
You can even use this bag to store DSLR accessories – a 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom lens can fit lying down. This is great if you are carrying a DSLR and want to keep an additional lens readily available.
There are front pockets to keep (relatively) flat items such as spare batteries, cards, pens, etc.
As with other Think Tank products, a rain cover included to protect your bag from the elements.
You can also attach this bag to one of Think Tank’s belts if you prefer to wear this on your waist as opposed to your shoulder.
What I liked:
If you have a basic compact camera system kit and need a simple bag to transport them, I urge you to check out the Think Tank’s Hubba Hubba Hiney (B&H Photo/Video ~ Adorama). Thanks again to Think Tank Photo for allowing me to review this bag for them.
